Coach Jorge

With more than 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Jorge has coached the game at nearly every level — from T-ball and all divisions of Little League to travel baseball, high-level tournament competition, and men’s softball. That experience has shaped a coaching philosophy centered on player development, accountability, baseball IQ, and a genuine love for the game.

As founder and head coach of the NY Tanks Baseball program, Coach Jorge believes that young players develop best when they are taught the game, challenged to compete, and then given the freedom to play baseball. Players are encouraged to think, make decisions, learn from mistakes, compete with confidence, and understand the game rather than simply being told what to do on every pitch.

His philosophy is simple: let the kids play, develop, learn, compete, and have fun. Winning matters, but long-term development comes first. The goal is to build fundamentally sound, confident, intelligent baseball players who understand situations, embrace accountability, respect the game, and are prepared for the next level.

Under Coach Jorge, the Tanks have developed a strong winning culture while competing in league play, high-level regional and national tournaments, as well as international tournaments and events. Those experiences expose players to different levels and styles of competition while teaching them how to handle pressure, adversity, success, and the expectations that come with competitive baseball.

For Coach Jorge, success isn't measured by trophies alone. It's measured by the growth of each player — their confidence, baseball IQ, fundamentals, character, and readiness for whatever level of the game comes next.
